After passing the air-tightness test with flying colours with 0.84 m³/(hm²)@50pa (which is more than 3 times better than required), the SAP energy certificate was finalised and the "Trojan House" (looks like a Mock Tudor on the outside and is a contemporary, very energy efficient Stommel Haus home on the inside) scored a straight A.

The popular programme "My Flat Pack Home" shows the build of a Stommel Haus in Leicestershire. The programme will be broadcast on 1st May 2013 at 10:00 p.m. in the Home Channel on Sky and Virgin TV.

The building project of our clients in Leicestershire is finalist in the Green Footprint Award of the North West Leicestershire Dirtrict Council in the Category "Sustainable Urban Design".

The first "Mock Tudor" Stommel house is currently beeing finished in Purley, Greater London. The assembly of the house was started on 26th February, the clients will move in at the end of June.

The house is a beautiful 5 bedroom, 3 storey house with about 210 m² living space. The architecture of the house was determined by the strict local planning permission, the interior is a bespoke design matching the requirements of the owners.

The new Stommel Haus show home is open to the public in the show home village near Cologne. It is a wonderful timber house which stands out amongst the other houses in the village. The house is built with polar spruce heartwood to the highest standards and with fantastic energy efficiency - just like all the other houses Stommel Haus builds for their clients. What is new is the Solar Ice heating - the surplus energy of the summer is stored in a water tank burried in the garden and used for heating the house with a heat pump in winter.

The big glass front and the integrated sun room let in a lot of light. The roof ridge upstairs is visible trough the open gallery over the dining area. 198 m² living surface provide for a wonderful family house with a flexible layout.

The new show home of Stommel Haus, which is currently being finished in the show home village near Cologne, will be heated with a new high-tech system using solar and ice energy. It will be open for the public from June 2012. Besides the fantastic architecture of the open plan, airy and light contemporary timber house and the typical top quality of Stommel Haus, the novelty of this house is its heating system “Solar Ice”. The heating system linked to the under-floor heating on all floors of the house provides the warmth in the winter and cools the house in a hot summer. The full height windows, the glass front over two storeys on the front elevation and a sun-room provide lots of light for the house with 4 bedrooms and around 200 m² living space.

Stommel Haus, German Premium Manufacturer of high quality, energy efficient bespoke timber houses finished the first bespoke private dwelling in Warwickshire.

"We can hardly believe it, but it is really true - we are in! And before Christmas too! Our decision to build a Stommel Haus was definitely the right one. The house is lovely and Stommel Haus have been marvellous to work with." say Jayne and Tom.

The proud owners of the energy efficient Stommel Haus timber house with five bedrooms on generous 250 m²/2690 ft² will move in on time before Christmas.

The family in Warkwickshire signed their contract with Stommel Haus in October 2010. A bespoke design for a house was jointly developed by the owner and Stommel Haus matching the plot and the individual requirements of the future owners. Planning approval was granted after Christmas 2010. After demolition of the old house and the build of a basement and bottom slab, Stommel Haus started erecting the house on 7th September. The Shell Open Day was celebrated on 10/11 September. The interior kitting took 3 months and handover of the house by Stommel Haus to the owners was on the 14th December 2011.

The first Stommel Haus homes will be built in the UK starting in August 2011. A 5 bedroom house will go up near Rugby, Warwickshire on a beautiful plot overlooking at lake. The erection will start on 22nd August and Stommel Haus UK organises a Shell Open Day on the 10th and 11th of September (see Events). The finish is planned for the beginning of December 2011.

A wonderful 2 bedroom L-shape house will go up on a rural plot near Ibstock, Leicestershire. The erection will start on 12th September and Stommel Haus UK organises a Shell Open Day on the 1st and 2nd October (see Events). The finish is planned for Christmas 2011.

For the first time, Stommel Haus exhibits at the renowned Ecobuild exhibition in London on 1st until 3rd March 2011. We will use the opportunity to unveil our new wall design made from polar spruce which grows North of the polar circle in certified forest and dried carefully. Only the heartwood is used for our energy efficient and healthy homes.

Stommel Haus organised a charity run for the benefit of the Asklepios Children’s Hospital in Sankt Augustin, Germany in celebration of their own 75th Anniversary.

In time for their 75th anniversary, Stommel Haus, German premium manufacturer of timber houses, has developed the next generation of timber house wall for their high energy efficient contemporary timber homes. The wall design complies with the high standards of DIN 68800 which defines construction in wood devoid of any hazardous chemicals. The wall has been certified and will be used for all new Stommel Haus homes built with the “Elementar” wall.

Richard Mould, Mayor of Bicester and his wife Eileen visited Stommel Haus.  Twinned since 1982, Bicester and Neunkirchen-Seelscheid have a very vivid relationship. Richard and Eileen came to visit Neunkirchen-Seelscheid for the Neunkirchen spring fair on the 2. May.

Stommel Haus is of course very interested in the Bicester Eco Village development and hopes to get the opportunity to present their product

to the Bicester public.

In our pursuit to continuously improve our product we are now using the latest technology Air/Water Source Heat Pump from Waterkotte with its outstanding seasonal performance which complements our product for the benefit of our homes owners and a sustainable future. The next Stommel Haus UK Sales Conference will be held in Woodland Manor Hotel in Bedford on July 13, 2009.

All British Stommel Haus Agents will attend the conference organised by Clark & Fischer-Clark GmbH. Ralf Stommel, MD of Stommel Haus GmbH Germany and his wife Jessica will also attend, supported by Joachim Schmitz, Sales Representative from Germany.

Amongst other subjects, the Sales Conference will look at the British energy efficiency and the Code for Sustainable Homes requirements as well as the recent response of the many British clients who expressed their interest in the energy efficient, contemporary timber houses built by Stommel Haus.
